Since the start of 2025, we’ve been looking into the Lord’s promise for this year of birthing your fruits - specifically, God’s plan over your lives into manifestation. Every promise that was in the spirit realms - will manifest in the natural.

Each month we’ve been looking into different fruits we can bear as a testimony to the Word of the Lord. In April, I would like to focus on Philippians 1:11 “filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.”

A true Christian’s maturity can be witnessed by the fruits of righteousness (nature, character including God’s love & power) manifesting in their lives.

A person who prays for hours together, then continuing to carry hatred, jealousy and cursing is deceiving themselves.

The very reason we pray (spend time with the Lord is to become like Him in nature), but after praying, people tend to continue to do, speak things that the Lord hates.

There are plenty the Spirit may bring to your edification, but here are a few fruits of righteousness to meditate upon:

1.Hating sin & Loving righteousness

• We often motivate ourselves to love righteousness, but ignore hating sin.
• Overcoming sin, running away from sin is different from hating sin. Ignoring sin is not equal to hating sin.
• The secret to the Lord’s peculiar & unique anointing was prophesied in Psalms 45:7 “You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”

Dear Lord, Help me not only to love righteousness but fill me with Your hatred for sin from today. In Jesus’ name.

2. Being obedient to parents and honoring them

• An end-time evil nature in the human race prophesied by the apostles is ‘being disobedient to parents’ 2 Tim 3:1-2 “... In the last days terrible times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,”
• Jesus our role model in Luke 2:51 “And he (Jesus) went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject (obedient) unto them (Mary & Joseph)”

Dear Lord, Help me to be obedient to my parents from today. In Jesus’ name.

3.Keeping our tongue from backbiting and evil speaking

• Even prayerful people sin when it comes to this dangerous sin, but backbiting (slander) is a very serious sin in the eyes of God. Do you know there are several verses in the NT, that lists backbiters in the list of those who will be thrown to hell.

Dear Lord, Help me not to backbite or speak evil of others from today. In Jesus’ name.

4.God’s power working in us to produce healing, miracles and wonders is righteousness

• If helping someone with money who is in need of school fees is righteousness, healing someone with sickness is also fruit of righteousness - they are both acts of love and compassion and they are no different as they both meet the need of someone in desperate need of help. A generous person who doesn’t believe in Jesus can give money to a needy person, but cannot minister healing or deliverance, that’s the reason, Paul says, in: 

1 Corinthians 14:1 “Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.”

Paul didn’t write the 1 Corinthians to bishops or other apostles or evangelists. It was a letter to new believers encouraging them to operate in gifts of Spirit.

Dear Lord, Help me to earnestly desire for spiritual gifts including healing, deliverance and prophecy. In Jesus’ name.
